If each of our 4,000 music alumni pledges $10 a month for five years (equal to a one-time gift of $600), we will establish a $2.4 million SoMAA scholarship fund that will provide 10 dedicated and talented students with $10,000 annually.
Stand with other UW alumni who are committed to the quality, excellence, and competitiveness of our School of Music by making a donation to the Scholarship Fund (search for "Music Alumni Scholarship Fund"). |

HISTORY of the UWSOMAA SCHOLARSHIP
-The School of Music Alumni Association Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 in conjunction with the University of Wisconsin Foundation to assist the School of Music in recruiting the finest freshman talent.
-From 2003 to 2013, SOMAA provided $76,000 to the School of Music. This was matched by the UW Foundation for a grand total of $152,000.
-In 2014, the SOMAA/UWF scholarship funds provided $16,000 for two incoming freshmen with four-year scholarships of $8,000 each. That will bring the total to $168,000 in scholarships provided to music students over 12 years.
-All gifts received beyond what is awarded in scholarships are invested by the UW Foundation to build a permanent endowment. That account now holds more than $100,000!
